Cheshire Alex Roche (チェシャ・A・ロシュ Chesha A Roshu) is a character of LINK VRAINS.
She is not a Celebrity Duelist as she has not gathered any fans or followers in the VRAINS.

Design

Cheshire is a short, teenage girl with fair skin, amber eyes, and lavender hair styled into four drills, two each on the front and back of her head. Her usual attire in the real world is the school uniform for Den City High School, which consists of a slate-colored jacket with a light blue trim. She wears the jacket buttoned up over a white shirt. Her uniform also includes a short black skirt with black socks that reach below her knee, and wears white boots that reach halfway up her calves. (In the dub, her socks are turned into leggings and cover all of her legs.)

Personality

Cheshire is very polite, but timid and reserved. Since she was a girl, she has been very introverted, and even in family photos she is seen clinging to her mother.She learned chess at an even younger age than she learned Duel Monsters. She has been playing since she was very young.She is very obedient to her parents, especially so to her father (though she still goes against his suggestions at times.)

"Shesha"

In the LINK VRAINS, she is a wicked, cruel Duelist known as Shesha (シェシャ Shesha), named after the venomous, fire spewing serpent of Hinduism.She is known for her unique Spell-focused "Chesshire" deck which enforces a strict playstyle and heavy use of control strategies to achieve victory. The forward-thinking and aesthetics of her Deck has earned her a small reputation as the "Chess Duelist" of VRAINS.

Design

While in the LINK VRAINS, Cheshire wears an outfit designed in the likeness of inquisitors in ancient European history. It consists of a black leotard worn under a gold-trimmed blue dress coat with blue leg of mutton sleeves, and a white jabot collar.
Connected to her leotard with a golden belt are baggy leggings that cover her knees and half of her thighs. Below that, she wears short white boots.
Her right arm is decorated with golden armor in the likeness of a chess piece. She wears a cap with two golden key designs on its front.

Personality

When logged in, her personality shows a love of huge risks and making a big show of her Duels. She is a sore loser and cannot comprehend the idea of defeat, making a huge fit of things when she takes a risk and it turns out badly for her.
When Dueling, she focuses on making her opponent's suffer through a storm of control-based effects than actually dealing direct damage.

Etymology

"Chesshire" is a play on the word "Chess" and "Cheshire" as a nod to the user's name and her favorite board game, chess.

Appearance

The "Chesshire" monsters are made to look like the pieces of a chess set, from the Pawn to the King. Every monster from the waist down ends in the base of a chess piece, while their upper halves take stylized appearances of their chess piece.Normal Spells in the archetype reference strategies or terminology in chess, such as Threat, Check, and Unpin.

Playstyle

The primary strategy of the archetype is quickly gaining access to, and summoning, the "Chesshire Pawn", using its effects to gather advantage for Link Summoning, then maintaining control of the Duel by the effect of "Chesshire Board".The deck's greatest weakness is that timing of effects are necessary lest the deck risk self-destructing. Several of the Deck's Spells will make Shesha lose resources or advantage if she activates them at the wrong time, and "Chesshire Board" inflicts massive damage every turn for every non-"Chesshire" monster controlled.Even further confounding matters is that her ace monster, the "Chesshire King", will make her lose the Duel during the End Phase of the turn it was destroyed. This makes even just Summoning it a risky strategy.Additionally, as a Spell-heavy archetype, it is weak to cards that negate or prevent the activation of Spell cards, as well as floodgates that can lock Shesha out of Link Summoning.

"Chesshire King"

"Chesshire White" (チェシャ－ホワイト) are a sub-series of the "Chesshire" archetype.

Appearance

In aesthetics, each "Chesshire White" monster is identical to its DARK "Chesshire" counterpart, but with a pearl-white coloration as opposed to the onyx-black of the primary "Chesshire" cards. Most "Chesshire White" cards also face the opposite direction as their "Chesshire" counterpart.

Playstyle

Unlike the other "Chesshire" monsters who focused on gaining advantage and establishing control effects, "Chesshire White" monsters are more offensive, with effects focused on maintaining advantage with recycling or battle focused effects. They are also more useful for forming co-links than the DARK "Chesshire" monsters.The greatest weakness of the "Chesshire White" monsters are inflexible effects as opposed to the versatility of the "Chesshire". Further, they have no Main Deck monsters.
